The Book Drop, new reading recommendations for Holbrook!
The Book Drop is our new book recommendation service coming in January 2026.
Each month we will select 1-3 fiction books for you based on your reading tastes.
The titles will be a surprise until you come in to pick them up on the 1st of each month.
It's a great way to discover your new favorite author or expand your reading horizons!
This program is available to teens and adults at this time.

What is The Book Drop?
The Book Drop is a monthly service in which you will receive one to three surprise fiction books each month based on your reading preferences. You will provide information in a questionnaire (such as the genres you like, preferred print format, and topics to avoid) and we will select titles that fit your preferences. The books we choose for you will be a surprise until you come in to pick them up! This is a great way to find your next favorite author or expand your reading horizons.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up by filling out a questionnaire online or in person. You can submit a questionnaire at any time but to receive books in the upcoming month please submit the form by the 20th.
For example: if you would like to start participating in April, you should submit a questionnaire by March 20.
When and how can I pick up my books?
You can pick up your books starting on the first of the month or the next day that the library is open. Your books will be available at the circulation desk for 10 days.
How can I help improve my future recommendations?
Each book that you receive through The Book Drop will have a feedback form. Providing honest feedback about the books you received will help us tailor future picks to your preferences. Please return the feedback form in person with your books at the Holbrook Public Library or share feedback by email at bookdrop@holbrook.ocln.org
What if I want to stop participating or skip a month?
Please let us know on your feedback form if you would like to stop participating or skip a month. You may also email us at bookdrop@holbrook.ocln.org to let us know.
How do I return my books?
Please return your feedback form, and books to the Holbrook Public Library circulation desk. If possible please also return your bag so we can reuse it for your next month’s selections and help reduce waste.
Who can participate?
Teens and adults with an OCLN library card can participate.
What if I have already read the book that was selected?
Please let us know if you have read the book so that we can provide you with an alternative.
What if I don’t pick up my books?
If your books are not picked up after 10 days it will count as a skipped month and you will need to wait until the following month for a book to be available.
