How can I search for materials?

  1. The first place to search for materials is the OCLN Catalog. If you find an item in the OCLN Catalog, you may request it yourself or contact the library to place a hold.

  2.  If you do not find the material you are looking for in the OCLN Catalog, you may expand your search by using the Commonwealth Catalog.  You may place requests in the Commonwealth Catalog yourself, or you may contact the library for assistance.

    • The Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat) is a service that lets you search for and request books, audiobooks, DVDs or CDs from libraries all over Massachusetts for pickup at your local library. For access, you will need to log in using your valid OCLN library barcode and PIN.

    • Please note that Commonwealth Catalog items must be returned to the library where they were picked up & renewals are not allowed.

    • To learn more about ComCat view their FAQ.

  3. If you do not find the material you are looking for in either OCLN or the Commonwealth Catalog, please contact the library for help. Additional out-of-state loan services through our mediated ill system may be possible. Help locating scholarly journals or other articles is also available.

All Interlibrary Loan requests are handled by our Circulation & ILL Department. For assistance, please visit the Circulation Desk, call 781-767-3644, or email ill@holbrook.ocln.org
