Reference Services
The Reference Department of the Holbrook Public Library has a wide variety of materials and services to meet patron's informational needs and answer their
reference questions. We will help you find a book in our collection, place a hold, or order it through the virtual catalog and interlibrary loan.
Inquiries may be made in person or by phone at 781- 767- 3644. Print and electronic resources are available. To communicate with a librarian online, 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, click on the Mass Answers logo.
The reference collection contains materials in a wide variety of subject areas. The print collection consists of dictionaries, general and specialized
encyclopedias which cover a wide range of subjects; business listings and investment services including ValueLine and Morningstar; Massachusetts laws;
consumer information; medical books; literary criticism; and history.
Online databases, accessible with an internet connection are available through SEMLS and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and include
resources for magazine and newspaper articles, biographies, literary criticism and general reference sources. Many electronic resources are searchable from
home! All you need is your library card; your library barcode is your patron ID number.

4 Computer catalogs available to search the Old Colony Library Network
4 Computer available for graphical Internet access
A copy of the Internet use policy is available at the reference desk and in the
policy section of this website.
There is a charge of $0.10 per page to print. Patrons are allowed one 60-minute session per day of Internet use.
